YOUNG CANADIAN WORD WIZARD BRINGS 'DISTINCTIONS' CRAZE TO ATLANTA

Toronto, Canada - August 22, 2002 - Put aside your Websters! Forget about the Thesaurus! A new type of Dictionary will be revealed in Atlanta next week and it is sure to create as great a sensation in the US as it has in Canada. Danish Ahmed, author, speaker and business coach is out to revolutionize the way that people use ordinary words in their everyday vocabulary.

Armed with his recent book, 'A Dictionary of Distinctions' Danish has chosen Atlanta to launch the US portion of his speaking circuit. Says Danish "I cannot think of a more appropriate city to kick off my speaking and publicity tour than the home of mega broadcaster CNN". No stranger to the south and its influence on US culture, his prior involvement in youth parliaments allowed him to enjoy the privilege of being chosen to attend the inauguration of former Arkansas Governor and President Bill Clinton.

At 25 years of age, this former computer techie and dot.com innovator, has traveled the world studying cultures, and the way they communicate. Danish has drawn on this knowledge and life experience to inspire and prompt people to become aware of the enormous impact that distinguishing between words can bring to their communications, their business, their life.

Danish will demonstrate the power of distinctions to young business students that he will speak to during his whirlwind tour of Atlanta. What is a distinction and how does it work?

Take the word 'launch' for example. What does it mean? And what about 'start'? We often interchange these words but do we think about how we use them? Of course, they are a familiar part of your computer jargon. In order to compose your next prose you 'start' your computer program and probably 'launch' your internet browser - but these words have so much more impact.

They are ordinary words that pack extraordinary power!

Danish proposes: "Starting is an important step in anything that we do. Without starting, we're procrastinating. However, the term 'start' is a little ambiguous. In a business venture for example, did we 'start' once we had the first brainstorm of an idea, or did we 'start' once we put in some tangible investment? Are we off to a slow-start, or a fast-start? What defines a 'finish'?"

By comparison, Danish distinguishes, "A 'launch' conjures up a visual image. It could be an image of a great rocket that soars to the moon for the first time!
