Before you finish reading this sentence, a child will have tied their shoes for the very first time without anyone's help. Before you finish reading this next sentence, a teenager somewhere in the world will have sunk a shot to win the basketball game. Before you finish reading this final sentence, a woman somewhere in the world will have hammered the final nail into the extension of her own home. I was talking to the other executives of Ordinary Words, and for the first time in a long time, we talked about what we had done instead of what we had to do. Two and half years ago, we sat together and brainstormed ideas for inspirational products that would entertain. We didn't know how we were going to do it. But we were passionate, and we were committed. That faith lead me to a man named Scott Stratten, who helped us design our first movie called "What Is Love?" That movie has now been seen by half a million people across 112 countries. Today, we have produced ten movies, and counting. Everyday, thousands of people watch and appreciate these movies. Everyday, I get e-mails from people telling me how much they are touched, moved, and inspired by our works and by our vision. Am I proud? Of course I'm proud. And last night for the first time in a very long time, I sat with a smile on my face and in my mind I said "Congratulations Danish." Here's the question: What are you proud of? Can you do me a favor? Can you stop doing whatever you need to do after reading this email and can you think of what that answer might be? And after you think of what you are proud of, can you do me an even bigger favor? Can you please give yourself a pat on the back and mentally say the word Congratulations? You did it. You really did it, and you should be so proud of yourself. Feel free to pass this newsletter to your friends and allow them to be inspired through the short movies we have created. These movies contain the insights of everyone at Ordinary Words, and I'm really proud of them. Love, [)anish /|hmed have fun creating your life P.S. In celebration of Spring... To me, that means new life, fresh beginnings and new opportunity. I have something exciting to share with you. If you're curious, click here www.DictionaryOfDistinctions.com |
