Hey there, I want to start off by being honest, honorable, and acknowledge Stuart and KnightFlight Productions for the contributions they have made for me in my life. Stuart Knight e-mailed me a couple of weeks ago, and wanted to discontinue our day-to-day business relationship. I went through so many emotions, such a roller-coaster ride, and ultimately have learned so much. The shock lasted only a few moments, because I felt that Stuart and I had organically and slowly come to this decision together over the last several months, and this was simply communicating it explicitly. For the last couple of weeks I had extreme emotions both of sadness and of happiness around this situation, sometimes simultaneously, not understanding why. Now I do. The last three years have been so amazing and fun for me. My association to Stuart Knight and KnightFlight Productions, has grown both me and my companies significantly. My dream of being on-stage in a live inspirational musical came true instantly! The added brand of entertainment to Ordinary Words Inc. has allowed me to more easily be able to produce and/or acquire financing for other media projects, such as my upcoming feature-length movie called "An Ordinary Story." Much more than all of that, I grew in ways I didn't even know were important. I became much more conscious of fashion, of style, of image, of social status, of prestige, and of good taste. I got better at understanding social group dynamics, varied personalities, and harnessing sexual energies. My social network grew, I dated more frequently, and my old days of being a technical geek had disappeared. I've learned to develop my intuition and instincts. I can be with my feelings more. And that has helped me in growing through this transformational process. Even though I had envisioned actively working with Stuart for the rest of our lives, from an entrepreneurial perspective I realized I had just accomplished another one of the biggest dreams in my life. Let me explain. I found a cutting-edge talent totally aligned with my vision of inspirational entertainment. I then took the production and added marketing systems to it. I started creating a brand for it. I created an on-line presence for it, causing 5,000 unique visitors a month. I continually promoted it to my network of 20,000 people. I added a credit card processing system that increased sales by 200%. I created an e-commerce system that caused 50% of sales to be acquired a week in advance. I systemized an on-line community and newsletter that grew by 500% in members. I created and designed viral marketing campaigns that had our production be exposed to half a million people world-wide. Entrepreneurially, after taking a business from point A to point B, you're actually supposed to leave it. The purpose of any enterprise is to add value and gain a financial return for doing so. With Ordinary Words, I certainly do that. And, because I own the majority of the company (84%) and I will retain control in everything I choose to do, I have no plans to leave it. With other companies, like KnightFlight Productions, it's different. Because I don't have controlling power, the purpose is also to add value and gain a return, but then to leave, be hands-off, and collect an ongoing royalty (dividends to shareholders) for the unique value that was added. So I found a business I loved, I added a significant amount of value to it, I now own a piece of it, and I don't have to do a thing anymore! This is exactly what an entrepreneur wants to do. So, where do my feelings of unhappiness come from around this situation? Stuart and I connected so deeply and profoundly. We didn't just have an amazing business relationship, we had an amazing friendship. The depth and chemistry of friendship was magical. And, my view now is that that friendship, which was beautiful, authentic, and real, was based on the circumstances of our active business relationship. In other words, Stuart and I will always be great friends whenever we meet, but I believe our meetings will not be based exclusively on the desire of being together as friends. And that was so sad for me to realize. I trust that in the future, our friendship will transcend beyond even this level of friendship that has been so beautiful for the last three years. I've learned that no matter where we are in life, no matter how successful we become, no matter how much personal growth work we've been through, and no matter how much of our life is "the life of our dreams," the feeling of losing a best-friend, is always just as painful. Stuart will make it big-time. Beyond the financial investment I have in him, I still have love, faith, and passion for Stuart and all his amazing talents. What do I do now? Besides producing other inspirational artists, I am focusing on promoting prestige entertaining events about transformational living. I want to share more of myself and my life with you, through speaking engagements, a weekly telephone mentorship program that you can be a part of, and I want to introduce you to my friends in the transformational arts industry, to help you better your lives. For example, I'm speaking on Wednesday afternoon, August 29 about entrepreneurship and networking. As part of the Ordinary Words community, you can come and hear me speak free of charge. On Thursday, August 30, we're bringing Michael Hepworth, The StreetSmart Marketer, talking about "Cracking the Success Code". Upcoming newsletters will have time and location details, so stay tuned!! In the fall, I'll be doing a huge event around my birthday, called "A Night of Love with Danish Ahmed - Learn how to turn an Ordinary spark into an Extraordinary flame!" They'll be hundreds of people there, and you won't want to miss this amazing energy! Love, [)anish /|hmed http://www.ordinarywords.com P.S. My life is awesome, and my life has just begun! Know that your life is awesome, and live as if your life has just begun. |
