Have You Ever Wanted to Give Up? The next day, an appliance breaks in your house and you now have an added expense this month you can't afford. The following week, someone at work snaps at you for no reason and your mood is affected for the rest of the day. Just as you get enough strength together to manifest a better attitude and put more joy back into your being, someone you were so hoping to see this weekend, can't make it. It is precisely at times like these that it doesn't feel like we have control in our lives. It feels as if unfair situations are constantly coming our way and we're always trying to deal with these ongoing frustrations. What do I do when - I'm trying to get to an important meeting, the bus driver forgets to call out my stop, I need to walk back for 15 minutes in a snow storm and can't find the number of the building I'm supposed to get to? I look up, smile, or sometimes cry. Either way, I continue walking. We can't always control what events will take place, but we can take the time to really experience where we are, and then we can be committed to our cause. There will be times when we won't want to honor our commitments. There will be times when we will want to give up. What are you going to do when life doesn't go the way you want it to go? Walk into 2006 knowing that you will deal with whatever comes your way, knowing that your attitude, your choice, and your commitment will have you win in life.
